As of about 11pm (Australian time), we were given a video confirming that the previous leaks that have been circulating for the past few days about Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon are partially true. Lets enhance this Poke-hype.

Wishiwashi - Water
Oh how I love this sad little fish. It appears to be perpetually on the verge of tears but can never cry... because it's underwater. Anyways, Wishiwashi is a small and most likely power-deficient Water Type that holds the ability Schooling. Schooling allows Wishiwashi to alter its form when it reaches a certain level, turning into the School Form, which is comprised of multiple small fish, boosting the stats and cool factor of Wishiwashi.
Sorry wrong photo.
It is unclear whether the School Form will be a permanent change to Wishiwashi, or if it will occur every time it enters a battle, while above the level requirement. Within the video we are given a glimpse at the transformation of Wishiwashi and it occurs while the Solo Form is at level 50. It could be a coincidence but level 50 seems like a reasonable level to activate the School Form. Get leveling trainers.
Pyukumuka - Water
This admittedly cute Pokemon bears a resemblance to some form of deep sea Crustacean, complete with odd name. Pyukumuku (there was a fair few spell checks on that one) holds the ability Innards Out, which based on the release video, deals a small amount of damage to opposing Pokemon if it faints while actively engaged in battle. This can be perfect to give your next Pokemon in the party a bit of a fighting edge.
Morelull - Grass/Fairy
This may seem odd but Morelull is exactly the kind of Pokemon I would love to have just chilling around my front and back yards. Just a great aesthetic. This glow in the dark mushroom is a cute little Grass and Fairy Type that holds the abilities Illuminate and Effect Spore (obviously). Illuminate is a passive ability that raises the chance of encountering wild Pokemon.
If you can find this Pokemon early within Pokemon Sun and Moon, it will be a great asset to your quest to become the very best (cue theme music). It also holds Effect Spore which provides a chance for opposing Pokemon to become poisoned, burned or paralyzed when they make contact with this Pokemon. Stay away from physical moves when going up against Morelull, or you could have a bad time.
New Takes On Old Favourites
Look at this smug feline. As if Meowth and Persian needed another excuse to act like royalty. Now they were actually bred by royalty. As you could have guessed the new Alolan Meowth came about by being bred as companions for the Alolan Royal Family. Meowth now holds the Dark Typing and two abilities - Pickup and Technician.
Pickup is a simple passive ability that provides this Pokemon the chance to pickup items scattered about the world, so check back often with your Alolan Meowth. Technician on the other hand provides a much needed combat boost, bolstering your Pokemon's weaker moves with some extra power.
Alolan Marowak - Ghost/Fire
Looks like Cubone's mother has arrived back on the scene (too soon?). The new and improved Alolan Marowak developed its new look and type as a response to natural predators in the Alola Region. Not many Pokemon are going to be messing with this new Fire and Ghost Marowak if they know whats good for them.
Its abilities are Cursed Body, which provides a 30% chance of an opposing Pokemon's move being disabled if Marowak is successfully hit with it, and Lightning Rod, which draws all Electric Type moves to this Pokemon. This could be a life saver when trying to protect allied Pokemon during battle that may be susceptible to Electric Types.
Alolan Raichu - Psychic/Electric
Okay, so I have read a lot of things over the past couple of days saying how Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon have ruined Raichu. But just look at this adorable cinnamon bun! Raichu now holds the typings of Electric and Psychic, which I am absolutely psyched about. It holds the ability Surge Surfer, which is an awesome ability that DOUBLES the speed of Raichu when the move Electric Terrain is active.
Electric Terrain is a move that alters the battle environment and boosts the power of Electric Type moves, so ensure that you keep that move in your arsenal. Alolan Raichu is also exciting because it presents the fact that there will most likely also be an Alolan Pikachu!
Evil Team - Team Skull
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I love these guys. With the limited footage that is available, I have determined though careful investigation that Team Skull is a group of hip-hop rejects and it is a beautiful thing. Previous teams in the Pokemon universe have wanted to enslave Pokemon, set Pokemon free or sell them for a profit. Not these guys. These guys want to use Pokemon to drop their latest mix tape - I'm sure it would sound great with an Exploud.
With their dangling necklaces and edgy bandannas I have to say I am very pumped to see what this team's main goal is, if they even have one, besides causing mayhem and trying way too hard to look cool. In case you haven't noticed, they have the old school hip-hop hand movements going on. Wondrous.
We were introduced to two of the main members of Team Skull;
Admin Plumeria. The big sister of Team Skull with her cool and massively impractical hair.
It's your boy - Guzma, the big boss man of Team Skull. Apparently he was a reject for the position of Trial Captain, so perhaps this group seeks to break down and destroy the Island Trials and capture the Totem Pokemon. Who knows. But I for one, am absolutely pumped to find out!
What do all you trainers think about the new Pokemon and the alternate forms of our old favorites? More importantly how do you feel about the awesomely tacky new evil group - Team Skull?
