The Pokémon hype this year is real people. First Pokémon Go captivated the world and later Pokémon Sun & Moon will ravage peoples wallets yet again. Is there any solstice from the cute little monsters? Well probably not, but there is a new awesome fan made game that whilst maybe does not help the overflow of Pokémon related media on your social networks, it does at least come cost free!
Well What Is It?
Im glad you asked, Pokémon Uranium is a free fan made game 9 years in the making which takes place in the brand new region of Tandor, you must collect 8 gym badges, become the champion...all the basics that we have come to know and love. However, the brains behind this iteration have designed a huge amount of original creatures for you all to catch.
Here we have the new starters of Uranium, Orchynx (grass/steel type), Raptorch (fire/ground type), and Eletux (water/electric type). C'mon guys just look at the designs! These could be legitimate Pocket Monsters, here are a few more to feast your eyes upon:
If you're wondering what these "Fakemon" will look like in sprite form, here is some from the developers!
Any New Features?
As Pokémon Uranium boasts the classic gameplay albeit with amazing new designs, It just wouldn't quite be a fan game without a few tweaks to the features here and there. The most immediate new feature would be that of Nuclear Type Pokémon , this new type is described as:
Much more aggressive than normal Pokémon, and have been likened to mindless monsters that will attack anything in sight. You can catch them, but they disobey orders and may even attack their trainer.
See kids thats what you get when unstable isotopes mix with friendly fictional animals.
Other notable great features include Nuzlocke mode for those of you who are feeling extra torturous to yourselves, side quests that gain the player unique Pokémon upon completion and a translator which lets you communicate with your captures.
This game overall seems pretty awesome, Im always a onside when fans take time out to create and perhaps improve upon well known game formulas. Check out the trailer for the project below and you can download Pokémon Uranium for free right here!
