Summer is over, but the games keep rolling in. And we have plenty of AAA titles to look forward to this month. From the brand new like the stylish shooter ReCore to long-awaited sequels such as XCOM 2 to remastered classics like Dead Rising 2.

Here's a list of what we're looking forward to the most in September.

1. ReCore

Release Date: September 13

Platform: PC, Xbox One

This action-adventure shooter for the PC and Xbox One has all the style and fun we're looking for. Equal parts Destiny, Halo, and Star Wars, ReCore has both exciting combat and intriguing puzzle solving. There's also grappling hook mechanics and matching the color of the glowing cores to the enemies for strategic advantages. Count us in for this AAA title.

2. Persona 5

Release Date: September 15

Platform: PS3, PS4

This highly anticipated JPRG is coming to the PS3 and PS4 in Japan this month (Feb 14, 2017 for North America and the rest of the world.) The sixth in the series, it will introduce fishing to the franchise, Palaces that aren't randomly generated, and mini-games to boost character stats.

3. Destiny: Rise of Iron

Release Date: September 20

Platform: PS4, Xbox One

The fourth expansion in the successful console first person shooter/RPG hybrid, Destiny: Rise of Iron will provide players with new missions, new maps, new gear, and, of course, sweet new rides. A new 6v6 mode is being introduced to The Crucible similar to the Call of Duty "Kill Confirmed" mode. And players will be able to host private and custom multiplayer matches.

As for the storyline, it's back to Old Russia to investigate an outbreak of the thread-like SIVA and the mysterious appearance of the last Iron Lord.

4. Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade

Release Date: September 23

Platform: PC, Mac, Xbox One, PS4

This massive multiplayer online third person PvP shooter set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe is an all out brawl. I got a chance to play it at the Bandai Namco booth during E3 earlier this year and it was enjoyable mayhem. Space Marines, Orks, and more endlessly battling over control points in timed battles of over 60+ players. It was pure chaos in the best way. There will also be PvE content for smaller groups.

Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade will be available on PC, Mac, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

5. Dead Rising 2: Remaster

Release Date: September 27

Platform: PS4, Xbox One

This popular open world survival zombie smasher from 2010 is getting a remastered release for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. You can now destroy the undead in creative ways at 1080p/60 FPS thanks to the wonders of modern technology.

6. XCOM 2

Release Date: September 27

Platform: PS4, Xbox One (previously released on PC, Mac)

Released earlier this year for PC and Mac, XCOM 2 is now coming out for the Xbox One and PS4 and has fans lined up for this much-praised sequel. Our own Ken McDonnell called it "one of the deepest and most satisfying strategy games I've had the pleasure of playing." Great story, fast-paced action, and constant threat of failure will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the game.

7. FIFA 17

Release Date: September 27

Platform: PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360

Highlights for this year's installment include a single player campaign that follows an athlete on and off the field called "The Journey" as well as club management options that allow you to decide where the front office puts their efforts for maximum value. And speaking of management, the new Frostbite engine now places a lifelike scowling manager right on the sidelines during the matches. Can it get any more realistic?

8. Shantae: Half-Genie Hero

Release Date: September 27

Platform: PC, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, Wii U

This single player platformer was funded through Kickstarter. Players control Shantae as she transforms into a monkey for climbing or a crab for swimming. She can also use her hair as a whip to take out the bad guys. Shantae: Half-Genie Hero will be available on PC, PS4, PS Vita, XBox One, and Wii U.

9. Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice

Release Date: September 27

Platform: 3DS

Let's not forget our Nintendo DS brothers and sisters. Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice is the latest side-scrolling platform game staring our favorite fast moving hedgehog. You can also plays as Tails, Knuckles, or Sticks as well as Amy. Each character will have special fire and ice themed abilities to go with the title.

Forza Horizon 3

Release Date: September 27

Platform: PC, Xbox One

The open world racing game is set in Australia and features cross-platform play so there is no separation between Xbox One and PC players. Though in previous installments you played as the racer, this time you are the boss and can hire and fire racers to drive the over 350 cars that will be available at launch.

That's it for September (isn't that enough??) before the onslaught of October releases.
