With the unprecedented global success of Pokémon GO, it only makes sense that other companies might wanna nab themselves a piece of the proverbial pie, and nab they have—clones, knock-offs, and even strange games that have absolutely nothing to do with Pokémon are using the GO name to promote themselves across app stores everywhere.
While most of the time we just smile, roll our eyes, and scroll on to something less copyright-infringing, some of the more bizarre offerings are too ridiculous, too off-putting, and sometimes too visually traumatizing to simply throw to the wayside.
We've compiled a number of the most cringe-inducing ones here for your personal viewing pleasure.
The Truly Bizarre: Pokémon GO Knock-Offs That Will Make You Question Everything Good in Society
1. Forest for Pokémon Go
The Nice action adventure game for android.
Are you ready to move with Pokemon go in forest ?
No, game. No, I'm not. Especially not when Pikachu looks like a mutated, bipedal cat wearing a beret. This game from Shreeya IT Solutions based in India boasts nothing you'd ever want in a game. They couldn't even get their artist to draw their French Pikachu monstrosity in any other poses, instead just having him/her/it travel around in a plane or flying—flying—around on a skateboard.

Apparently, Pikachu's name is "pokemon go." Also, I'm not sure they understand the meaning of the word "beautiful." The only thing I've been able to gather about how you actually play the game is "do not touch in fire but you can enjoy with rain," whatever that means. How this app falls in the 100,000 - 500,000 downloads category escapes me, but if it's somehow caught your fancy, feel free to download it here.
2. Bubble for Pokemon Go
Guess what? There's MORE.
Shreeya IT Solutions has done it again! For those who can't get enough of the lovable "pokemon go" and his various adventures, you can now enjoy him in bubble-form!
The Nice bubble game for android game lovers.
Are you ready to move bubble with pokemon go to blast them
and sure you'll get bubble Mania.
I'm not sure what "bubble Mania" is, but I sure as hell am excited to find out! Especially if the art is as "beautiful" as last time.
The jaunty, red shooter that looks like a Christmas ornament, the strange castle in the background whose drawbridge leads to instant death, the beautiful, colorful, BALLS!
Break all the lines explode every single ball to complete level
This, my friends, is game ingenuity at its greatest. Help French Pikachu explode the balls of his brothers and sisters in this action-packed puzzle game you'll wanna play again and again. Available NOW in the app store!
3. Puzzle for Poke-Ball Go Game
You might be expecting another winner from Shreeya IT Solutions with a name like this, but our next contender comes directly from the heads of development team "Appz Dreamer."
I'm already excited.
On first glance, the game appears to be... actually, I can't even tell what it's supposed to be. I just know that there's a "Point Game" and a "Puzzle Game." Maybe the game's description will give us more of a clue.
The amazing 3d game for kids having Super picachu as main character and Ash as it's owner.
I wonder if "Super picachu" is related to "pokemon go." I'm sure they'd get along great. At any rate, there appear to be two different games. One in which you need to... slide Pikachu's head onto Ash?
The pokymon roll on the table which is similar to ball pool snooker table
Oh, that's much more helpful. Thanks.
Then there's what appears to be a match-3 game using pictures of what definitely aren't Pokémon.
Overall, this game looks like a real winner. I highly suggest you all go and download it here.
4. Adventure for Pokemon Go
Okay, why do all these game titles follow the "_________ for Pokemon Go" theme? Did I miss out on some major game-naming trend? These games certainly aren't all from the same developer, are they? Of course, not! This one comes from Professional Digital Firm, which is an entirely different developer from Shreeya IT Solutions!

Wait a minute.
At least the Pikachu in this game actually looks likes Pikachu (and he lost the beret). As for the gameplay, however, I have a sneaky suspicion it's similar to Forest for Pokemon Go...
Poke Go Fun is a Racing game where you need to cross different obstacles, overcome dangers while collecting as many omniverses as you can to score the highest..
Omniverses? You want me to collect as many "collection[s] of every single universe, multiverse, megaverse, dimension (alternate or pocket) and realm" as I can? I don't think those'll fit in my little mine cart.
The graphics in this one don't seem half-bad, though once again, Pikachu seems to be a statue. The addition of the mine cart means they don't even have to deal with walking animations!
Your friends are playing it - can you beat their high scores?!
Actually, I don't think they are...
But you can play it! Go face the unknown dangers and fear!!!
5. Ball Practice for PoGO
If the controls for Pokémon GO are just too tough to master, why not step back and practice with your balls for a while.
Head over to the PoGO page in the app store and all you'll see are a bunch of cute, cuddly animals and multi-colored balls... but this Chinese Pokémon GO knock-off originally used much different polygon sprites—ones that'll give you nightmares.
Yes, before The Pokémon Company no doubt shot them a C&D order, our friends over at Rejected Games: FPS Adventure & Sport Simulation Adventure used actual Poké-polygons, only different.
The cute and cuddly Pikachu has morphed into a demon rabbit worthy of standing alongside the Rabbit of Caerbannog. And he's not the only one.
Half-dead Snorlax with sunken eyes?!
This is the type of game you'd give your children if you wanted them to never play video games again! They're like the horrifying Pokémon you find in glitches!
Get great and excellent throws right now! Curve ball will be easy for you in no time! Practice throws with real Poks!
I'm guessing the company had to remove any and all instances of the word "Pokémon," as well, so now we're blessed with terms like "Pok Ball," "PokStops," and "PokMon trainer" (don't ask me why only "Pok Ball" gets a space).
This bizarre game is still available for download here, though the terrifying Pokémon mutants will only live on in screenshots... In the meanwhile, if you wanna be thoroughly freaked out Pokemon GO-style, try out this game.
Found another creepy or downright weird Pokémon GO knock-off? Just as disturbed as we are by these Poké-freaks of digital nature? Let us know!
