Minecraft has proven time and time again to be a fantastic way for fans to recreate scenes, characters and objects related to their favorite movies. Previously, Minecrafters have put incredible amounts of time and effort into rebuilding fan favorites, such as the Starship Enterprise and the Millennium Falcon, as well as building real-life structures like the Eiffel Tower.

There are also some incredibly talented Minecrafters who happen to be Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki fanatics, and the result is YouTuber AlanBeckerMinecraft's astounding passion project.

The team of Ghibli enthusiasts have constructed this Minecraft build, recreating the countryside setting in which Miyazaki's My Neighbor Totoro takes place.

What's really amazing about this rebuild of Miyazaki's classic animation is the attention to detail. It's clear that the creators are intensely and painstakingly devoted to recreating their favorite scenes. Let's take a closer look at the finest work within this creation.

Scenes Of Nature In The Vein Of Miyazaki

Scenery plays a huge part in every Miyazaki movie, and this didn't go unnoticed by this team of Minecrafters, who clearly put a lot of thought into how their creation could best replicate Miyazaki's vision.

Not only that, but the team even applied logic to figure out how each setting within My Neighbor Totoro was likely to connect to the other settings.

Mei And Satsuki's Home: Inside & Out!

Another hugely impressive aspect of this build is the family's countryside home. The Minecrafters must have studied the Studio Ghibli animation countless times in order to fully realize the surroundings of Mei and Satsuki's household. We can clearly see the well at the front of the structure, and during the YouTube video we can also see the father's writing desk, placed by the open doors that lead into the front garden.

Showing their ability to impress with simple structures such as housing, what is perhaps even cooler is the way in which these Minecrafters incorporate the events of the story within their design.

The Huge Tree In The Tsukamori Forest

Keeping as close to the film's narrative as possible, the video shows the small opening where Mei's journey into Tsukamori Forest began. The builders certainly don't disappoint with the interior, either.

Replicating Famous Scenes: Totoro Waits For the Catbus

This homage really wouldn't have been the same without Totoro waiting for the Catbus to arrive — a scene that helped solidify My Neighbor Totoro as an instant classic. If I had to guess, I'd say this scene ranks as one of the creators' most beloved scenes from the movie, considering their epic Minecraft version.

Trying to comprehend how many hours this would have taken these devoted fans is mind-boggling, but they certainly came out with a meticulous build that should be celebrated by Miyazaki fans and gamers alike. Their skill and devotion to this design says so much about what My Neighbor Totoro means to fans, as well as the many ways in which Minecraft offers a limitless creative outlet.
