New Commercial for the Playstation 4 Pro is as Retro as They Come
As a 90s kid myself, I wasn't around for all of the 80s madness, but considering a lot of commercials in the 90s were just slightly enhanced rehashes of their 80s counterparts, this commercial hit pretty close to home even for me.
What with the crazy, whacky colors and WAY too much movement and flashing on-screen, the over-the-top claims and reactions, and the ridiculously idiotic main protagonist who'd probably be impressed by a pet rock. This 80s-themed commercial for the very modern upcoming PlayStation 4 Pro is a fun little throwback that hooks itself into our hearts even if it doesn't answer all of our questions.
The ad also features gameplay from Zombies in Spaceland, the new zombies mode in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare that takes place, appropriately, in a 1980s amusement park, so the themes mesh together surprisingly well. Our wonder-filled, mullet-wielding protagonist finds himself sucked into the game on account of the PS4 Pro's "super fresh graphics."
All in all, it pretty much hits every old 80s commercial trope on the head with a ten-ton hammer.
That being said, if you're still pretty much in the dark about what exactly the PS4 Pro is, if you should get one, and what you can expect, this commercial will, in no way, open your eyes or give you any more of a reason to spend $399.99 on an updated version of a console you may or may not already own, so here's a few quick facts about the PS4 Pro to help you make that educated decision.

Basically, the PS4 Pro will make your gaming experience be, well, smoother. With a GPU said to be twice as fast as the original PS4, that means fewer skips in framerate. All recent and upcoming games will include a "Pro" mode that will take full advantage of the Pro's more powerful engine. Enhancements for these games could include larger resolutions and/or enhanced textures and graphics.
Lastly, the PS4 Pro will support a 4K mode, meaning that if you have a 4K TV, you'll be getting some Ultra HD visuals to really make those games come alive. This must be what the commercial was talking about when it said "super fresh graphics," eh?
