Everyone loves a good crossover. Nothing's better than when our favorite heroes and icons cross into each other's worlds to duke it out! It's especially great when they crossover in video game form, so we can take control of their epic battles.

The king of crossover video games is without a doubt the Marvel vs. Capcom series. The series has allowed players to take control of their favorite Marvel and Capcom icons and have them fight- answering questions like "Who would win in a fight between Spider-Man and Strider?".

If you haven't already heard the news, it looks like we might be getting another installment in the MvC series next year! Marvel vs. Capcom 4 has yet to be officially announced, but it's entirely possible for the series to make its way to the current generation of consoles.

In honor of the possible return of the series, I thought I'd take a look back and make a list of my top 5 favorite MvC characters of all time. So without further ado, check out my list below!

5. Hulk

Starting the list off is the Incredible Hulk himself. You wouldn't think it because of his size, but Hulk is actually a pretty swift character, as well as incredibly strong. His strength mixed with his surprising speed are what make Hulk my favorite power-heavy character in the series!

4. Gambit

Gambit is without a doubt my favorite member of the X-Men, which is why I'm so glad that he's playable in two out of three of the MvC games! Gambit is an acrobatic character, he jumps around the screen throwing explosive playing cards and smacking foes with his trusty staff.

Gambit's explosive use of simple objects like playing cards is what makes him one of my favorite X-Men, and one of the best characters in the Marvel vs. Capcom series!

3 B.B. Hood

Anyone who wasn't played the Marvel vs. Capcom games may be looking at the above image and wondering why a Red Riding Hood lookalike is on a list of the best characters in the series. B. B. Hood may look like an innocent little girl on her way to grandmas, but she's scary enough to make the Big Bad Wolf afraid of her!

B. B. Hood is packing some serious heat in her goodie basket; machine guns, bombs, and knives can all be found in her arsenal. What's make her even more lethal is her ability to pretend to just be a clumsy little girl. She often kills her targets by "accidentally" tripping and throwing a pineapple grenade at their face. Needless to say, you'd have a lot more luck coming across a wolf in the woods than B. B. Hood...

2. Dante

(Appearances: Marvel vs. Capcom 3)

I can't have a list containing Capcom characters without mentioning my favorite Capcom character of all time; Dante! Dante is a swordsman character with a ton of neat and demonic tricks up his sleeve.

The protagonist of the Devil May Cry series may not be as big a Capcom icon like Ryu or Albert Wesker, but he's still got a large fanbase behind. So large that I'm surprised it took Capcom three whole MvC games to finally add him to the roster! I mean, it could also be that the first DMC game didn't come out until after Marvel vs. Capcom 2, but Iike to think it's because Capcom likes to build up anticipation.

1. Deadpool

(Appearances: Marvel vs. Capcom 3)

Come on, you all knew it was coming. Of course Deadpool is number one, he's Deadpool! Deadpool has to be number one for literally any list, even if it has nothing to do with superheroes or comic book characters in general!

But in all seriousness, Deadpool is an amazing character in the MvC series, and definitely my favorite to play as. Not only does he break the fourth wall like an expert, but he's also got a pretty diverse moveset. Kick moves, sword swipes, rapid gun barrages, and good old punches to the face are all a part of Deadpool's move list!

Deadpool also has the best ultimate move in the entire Marvel vs. Capcom franchise. Making use of the fact that he knows he's in a video game, Deadpool grabs his own health bar and...well, it's better to just show you.

There you have it, my top 5 favorite Marvel vs. Capcom characters throughout the franchise! Here's hoping that the rumors about Marvel vs. Capcom 4 are true, and hopefully at least a few of my favorites return to the roster.

Thanks for reading! Who are your favorite Marvel vs. Capcom characters?
