It's been a pretty big few days for the fans of the shared-world-shooter, Destiny. Firstly, 'The Dawning', the game's holiday update, has been released for those that own the Rise of Iron expansion. Secondly, there is evidence that the game and its community are truly embracing the festive spirit through an official update launch trailer and a hilarious Christmas video from those YouTubers at Husky Raid.

This, I'm sure, is exactly what players will need to get them through the long, dull winter ahead, as they eagerly await the arrival of next year.

This Hilarious Destiny Video Will Help Get You In The Festive Mood

If you haven't already seen any of the other creations from Husky Raid, you're in for a treat. In this edition of "Saw something weird...", they take Destiny: Rise of Iron's Plaguelands map, which is usually a pretty desolate husk of a map somewhere in Old Russia, and transform it into an all-singing, all-dancing, gaming winter wonderland.

The video starts off in the middle of a pretty standard firefight, but soon the whole atmosphere changes with the sudden appearance of some mysterious characters and a foot of deep snow. Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' starts to play, and we are whisked off into a strange Christmas fantasy.

While in Plaguelands, we are wowed by the intricate choreography with players dancing in synch, Sparrows in formation and grenades used as a fireworks display. The video doesn't stay in Plaguelands for long though, as we are soon teleported onto the moon where even stranger things start to happen!

On the moon, I have to admit, it starts getting pretty trippy, and the bizarre brilliance of this sequence is definitely amplified by the choice of music. Soon we are running across the landscape to the sound of "Run Rudolph Run" by Chuck Berry, before the final light show and dance-off sequence which is accompanied by "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays" from the 90s group, N Sync.

The finale is just as funny with the whole celebration being brought to a very abrupt, but fitting, ending. The player wakes up in the middle of the firefight that he started off in and in the very moment he left it. Everything seems to be as it was, except now Destiny will always be that little bit more absurd, hilarious and festive than it was before.
