You may already have tried to catch one of the little fellows using your usual methods of hunting; running, swinging and shooting. You need to apply different methods if you want to efficiently hunt a blupee. Because even though it’s apparently impossible to catch the creature or kill it entirely, you can succeed in hitting the spirit rabbit with a well-placed arrow or two, resulting in it dropping some of its treasure.

To do this, you need to be extremely aware in your everyday adventuring. While you’re wandering the wondrous Hyrule wilderness, keep a constant eye out for the possible appearance of a blupee. If you spot the creature, it’s important you do not let your presence be known. Immediately put Link into a crouching position by pressing and holding the Left Analog Stick and slowly approach.

When you’re within safe shooting distance, load your favorite bow with the luckiest arrow in your quiver and let it lose to the best of your ability. Should it hit, you just made yourself richer. Hooray!

Zelda's Secret Spirit Rabbit Haven

If you want to make sure to have a lucrative encounter with a blue spirit rabbit, go to the secret Lakna Rokee Shrine near the Great Fairy Fountain in Kakariko Village. Here, you will almost always meet at least one of the cute little fellas, as they seem to just hang around the shrine, absorbing its power or something.

We don't know why they're actually there, but we do know you'll never get a better opportunity to catch one of the Blupees than by going to the Lakna Rokee Shrine. So what are you waiting for?

How Many Rupees Does A Blupee Carry?

Link has always been fond of treasures and rupees.
Link has always been fond of treasures and rupees.

Hitting a spirit rabbit with an arrow won’t cause any lethal injury, but it will make the animal flee the spot, spilling rupees all over the place and even cause it to leave a trail of them along its path. The amount of rupees that blupees leave behind varies, but you can expect between 20 - 100 rupees, with occasional exceptions. A pretty sweet deal for the small amount of work.

That’s all there is to know about hunting blue spirit rabbits at the moment. If we find a way to actually take out the creature or squeeze more rupees out of an encounter, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Happy hunting!
