Is the daily grind of Pokémon GO getting you down? Sick of repeat catching every Pokémon even remotely near you, the cruel shackles of monotony weighing you down?
It's true! Since its release, the number of people whipping out their phones to catch a Pokémon or two (or twenty) has been steadily decreasing, due mainly to its lack of, well, features! There's only so long you can keep doing the same thing day in, day out and even the most hardcore Pokémon fans will eventually grow tired of catching and transferring the same Pokémon again and again and again...
Which is why the newest info uncovered via some nifty datamining manoeuvres spells great news for those looking to get back into Niantic's game. Could all-new daily quests be just what Pokémon GO needs to evolve into Pokémon WHOA?!

Pokémon GO Datamine Reveals Possible Upcoming Feature in the Form of Daily Quests
Much like the recent datamine of Pokémon Sun and Moon (seems everyone's mining these days!), a new look at the code in Pokémon GO has resulted in some interesting revelations!
There are a number of lines in the code that seem to refer to a new "Daily Quest" system. The two sparking the most interest are:
- First Catch of the Day
- First PokéStop of the Day
These lead us to believe that at least some of the Daily Quests will revolve around catching a certain species of Pokémon or visiting a specific PokéStop, with potential bonus candy up for grabs.
Another intriguing line has to do with "incubators," leading us to believe that this will be your reward upon completing these Daily Quests (or a certain amount of them, at least). Incubators allow you to hatch Pokémon eggs. As the only ways of obtaining them previously were via level rewards or real money, this could be a great incentive for players to complete Daily Quests.
So are Daily Quests a sure thing?
Unfortunately not. Just because these strings were found in the code, doesn't mean Niantic has to implement them. For instance, similar strings were found hinting at an upcoming in-game trading feature as well, but as of now this has yet to be implemented.
At any rate, it's something to look forward to in a game that's in desperate need of new content to keep players hooked.
What do I do in the meantime?!
Well, there IS the upcoming Halloween event. It runs from October 26th to November 1st and advertises these spook-tacular changes in gameplay:
- Higher chance of running into "spooky" Pokémon
- Doubled candy rewards from catching, hatching, and transferring Pokémon to Professor Willow
- Quadrupled candy rewards if you use a buddy Pokémon
And if you're wondering what these "spooky" Pokémon entail, here's a quick list!
Get your spooky on Pokémon-style this Halloween! And keep your fingers crossed for those Daily Quests! (and trading, and battles, and...)
